Patchwork tea towels

I have had it on my mind to whip up these tea towels for a while now. Originally they were going to be part of Christmas gifting, but my time + energy got the better of me! I was even more inspired when I received a set of Jane's beautiful organic towel sets. I have some overdue gift giving + trades, and these will be going off to those people in all different parts of the world.

There has been more needle felting going on over here! I decided our little village needed a pond....

I have been wanting to do a pregnancy post and soon I will, but for now here is a picture of my growing belly at 20 weeks. I feel so big already! I am carrying this baby similar to how I carried Angie, which was not as comfy as with Bodhi! Things are happening faster this time round, I guess that is what happens with each pregnancy.

All things wool

Wool is one of my most favorite fibers to work with. This holiday we were gifted some very beautiful items made out of wool. My studio is full of wool.... stashes of yarn, roving, batting, quilt batting, felt sheets, felted sweaters, wool fabric and the list could go on! Anyhow, here is a glimpse of some of the wool goodness we have been having around here.

A wonderful pair of sweater felted mitts from Ella + Arlo (Bodhi loves them!!)

A pair of the fingerless mitts that I knit up as gifts for big and little people (more to come, they are so easy to make!)

Last but not least, my first pair of knitted longies for the new baby (all the mitts and the longies were knit with Manos del Uruguay Yarn in black forest colorway)

Gifting

The past few weeks before Christmas, I was able to get in a large amount of time in the studio. I was busy, busy, and I had such a wonderful time! Making gifts for people gives me such joy. This year I made gifts for everyone in my family, close friends and Bodhi's best little friends. I have to admit that quite a few of them were gifted before I managed to document (now I am kicking myself!).

I really enjoyed making all of the things that were quilted, and it geared me up to start thinking about finally doing a quilt. I am sure it will take me a few more months of thinking before anything is created.

Anyhow, here is the low down on what I have accomplished! Three knitted cowls, two knitted neck scarves, two adult pairs of fingerless mitts, two child pairs of fingerless mitts, eight knitted dish cloths, four coffee cozies, one pair of adult oven mitts, one pair of child oven mitts, ten tissue holders, eight coasters, two headbands, one zippered bag, one apron with embroidery, one pirate eye patch, one doll sling, one toy tool belt, two felt wee folk, six wet felted egg shells, one wet felted grape set, two needle felted lemons, and a bunch of tree ornaments! If I only had this type of motivation all the time!

Easter Weekend

Not too much to report around here - a nasty stomach bug was caught by all. Mr. B has had it the worst, throwing up since Thursday. I *hope* we are at the end of it all. Thats what we thought last night until there was sickness times two for the little one.

We managed to have a nice (as nice as it could be, iykwim?) easter brunch with an easter egg hunt.... and I was able to make some hand sewn bunnies, one felted bunny, and some magnets.

Not too much crafting, just a bit of knitting while watching a couple of flicks. Happy Feet was a really great movie that we all enjoyed. And I was finally able to see Children of Men which I enjoyed. Tonight I am going to top off my movie kick with The Good Shepherd!

I always find it a little hard to get back into the swing of things after we have had a sickness. I start to enjoy the lazyness of lounging and cuddling. Hopefully this afternoon sun will stay for tomarrow when will be motivated for park + play!

Magnets (not the best pic):

randoms

I love reading other peoples blogs that I am friends with but might not see as much as I would like.... it lets me stay "in touch" and see what they are up to, how their little critters are doing, and what they are creating.

Last night I made some stamp and fabric ink tags, it was so much fun. I will post pics when something is created with them!

Here is a picture of the first thing I ever wet felted! A shoulder bag, which I hardly wear because I am really a "big" bag kinda gal. Anyhow, I love the color combos and will wear it on the rare occasion when I don't need to bring x, y, and z with me.

There is something so sweet about pictures of little feet, oh joy.

Tuesday = my day

Tuesday is my day. It is the day that my mum takes Bodhi and I get to sew, or have a nap, the possibilites are endless. Today I feel accomplished as I finally did some of the sewing on my to do list. I did not however, figure out how to make a chef's hat. It seems relatively simply I know, but still it is daunting. I was quite proud of myself because often when I get into sewing mode I forget to do simply things like eat, drink and pee. Today I did all three!!!

Today it is back to rain around here. I was enjoying the sun so much yesterday!

I recieved a lovely package of fabric in the mail yesterday from here. I love, love, love all of it and wish that I could find fabrics like this locally.... thank goodness for the internet.

I enjoy making play food. When we got Bodhi the wooden kitchen for his second birthday I started to make the food. Most of it is needle and wet felted. Some is knit or crochet. The pizzas I make are made out of wool felt sheets. B goes in phases of playing with the kitchen and food, but lately he has been "cooking" every day. It always makes me happy to see him "frying up eggs" or "making pancakes".

Off to go and wash my hair and scratch that off the "to do" list!
